In the spring of 1999, I purchased a JD 4200 w/ a 420 front end loader, a 47 back hoe, 72 mower, 413 mower, equiped with lug tires on rear, both turf or lug tiers for front. In the summer, the turf tires rub the #72 mower and the rear tires try to pick it up. The rear tires also knocked the 2 safety devices off the 413. In the winter the front lug tires actually bent the hydraulic connections for the front end loader. Am I alone with these problems? Did the dealer sell me things that do not belong together? How can I fix them? I love my tractor but this is a pain.

I have a 1999 4200 with 72" belly mower and 420 loader, no backhoe like you, unfortunately. My front tires are Titan 25x8.50-14 NHS 4 ply multi-trac turf
tires. My rear tires are also turf. With the mower on the ground, there is at least 4" clearance from the front tires, a bit more than that from the rear tires. It sounds like your ag tires are too large. I'd suggest you talk to your dealer to see if the tires are non-standard for some reason. ....

I own a 2001 4200, although I do not do any mowing with it. I mostly do hoe and loader work. I did take a look at the implement compatibility sheet for the 4200. At least on a 2001 model the 413 rotary cutter and the 72" mid-mount mower are compatible. The tire sizes that are recommended for this tractor (4WD) are as follows: Rear: R1 Bar tires- 12.4-16; R3 Turf Tires- 13.6-16; R4 Industrial Tires- 14.00-17.5 and for the Front: R1 bar Tires- 7.00-12; R3 Turf Tires- 25 X 8.50-14; R4 Industrial Tires- 23 X 8.50-12. Not sure if this of any help; but it all that I could come up with. Good Luck ! ....

The bar tires on the rear of your tractor are not compatible with a mid-mount mower. The turf tires will work fine on the front and/or rear. R4 industrial tires will work well on the front, but clearance on the back with a 72" mid-mount mower will be minimal at best with the deck in the raised position. (I got this information from Tom Bowen, the salesman at Ag-Power in Terrell, Texas. He sold us our 4200.) ....
